SKH History

Sharon K. Hopper Fine Gardening originated in 1991 when Sharon, accompanied by her mother and sister, enrolled in a Horticulture Class, which sparked her profound interest in plants. Two years later, she embarked on a new career as a Landscape Grounds Manager with a commercial landscape company in North Carolina. In this role, she quickly discovered her professional calling was in residential gardening and horticulture, working directly with homeowners who shared a passion for fine gardening. She pursued further education in horticulture, obtaining her N.C. Landscape Contractors License in 1995 while simultaneously building her own clientele.

Following this success, Sharon K. Hopper Fine Gardening Inc. was formally established in 1997. Today, Sharon K. Hopper Fine Gardening (SKH) is a family-owned and operated business, spearheaded by Founder Sharon Hopper and her daughter, Co-Founder, Chanda Moore. The trust built with our exceptional clients, who share our passion for fine gardening, makes us the region's premier horticultural and landscape design experts.

Sharon and Chanda, both North Carolina Landscape Contractors, bring a wealth of knowledge to SKH, sharing over 60 years of combined industry expertise. SKH also holds a variety of other Green Industry Licenses, including the following:

Our network of resources allow us to take care of virtually any outdoor task you need from water features to retaining walls, irrigation to night lighting, walkways to patios, outdoor living spaces and more. Sharon K. Hopper Fine Gardening also offers property management services – whether it’s your primary residence or second home. Our Fine Gardening & Landscape Management Teams are composed of talented and knowledgeable gardeners. With our flexible gardening programs, our teams provide dependable, conscientious and professional garden care with an emphasis on tending to our client’s needs and expectations. We coordinate the care of gardens with our specialized gardening team in addition to managing irrigation, night lighting, lawn maintenance, pesticide programs, tree work and more.
